A Pair of Arrests Following Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

The assault resulted in the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several people injured by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
